The consolidated alliance between the La Cosecha collective and the Balmaceda Arte Joven corporation announces the fifth edition of the Festival of Performing Arts, “La Cosecha”. The space, worked on and designed for a year, has become a point of promotion and dissemination for emerging artists who work in theater and dance.

Between 19 and 29 January, La Cosecha celebrates its four years of life with 15 unmissable titles. As per tradition, the festival sets up a stage to present experimental proposals that seek to explore the performing arts in various themes, such as introspection, bodies, nature and social discourses. All through dance and theater productions that invite the public to reflect through art, and which were born in the workshops dictated by BAJ.

“La Cosecha is a cultural management collective that emerged under the wing of the BAJ laboratories. The festival is a practice of cultural democracy because it is conceived and created by young people, who leave their mark on our institution with their voices,” says the executive director of Balmaceda Arte Joven, Loreto Bravo.

The event, funded by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage through its 2023 Performing Arts Fund, will take place at the BAJ Extension Center, located within Quinta Normal Park. An ideal place for these summer days in the city due to its good connectivity and diverse nature.

The Chilean actor, director and playwright, Bosco Cayo, will be in charge of inaugurating this edition with an interactive speech in which he will reflect on the work and creative process of dramaturgy in Chile. The activity will take place online, Monday 16 January, from 7 pm :00, through the Zoom platform and with assistance upon registration (here).
